Vidyasthanam: School of Indian Music, Culture and Languages was founded in 2015. Operating in Chennai and Montréal, the school offers a variety of online and in-person classes ranging from Indian Classical Music, Culture, Philosophy, Indian Languages, French and personalized tutoring assistance.

It is registered under the name Lieu de Connaissance in Québec, Canada. Through its courses the school significantly contributes towards cultural exchange especially between the two countries of India and Canada. Founder-Director, Vidyasthanam

Founder-Director of Vidyasthanam Dr. R. Saraswati Sainath has years of experience teaching Sanskrit in colleges and universities in India and in Canada. She has publications to her credit in English, Tamil, Sanskrit and French. She is a Veena artist belonging to the lineage of Srimati. Ranganayaki Rajagopalan. She teaches Veena, Carnatic Vocal, Sanskrit and French.

Bhargavi Hariaharan

Carnatic Music Teacher

Bhargavi Hariaharan had her training in Carnatic Music for a couple of decades under the guidance of Smt. Sushila Anantharaman in Delhi and Smt. Usha Srinivasan at Bangalore Sangeetha Sabha. Her learning has been rooted in classical rigor, with continued self-practice and refinement. She remains committed to deepening her understanding of raga bhava, manodharma, and traditional repertoire. A program manager by profession she is based in Montréal and teaches Carnatic Music theory.

Narayana Sharma

Vedic and Sanskrit Instructor

Narayana Sharma from Kumbhakonam, India is the son and disciple of the Rgvedic scholar Sri. N. Subramaniya Ganapatigal. Graduating in B.Com from Sastra University, Kumbhakonam, Narayana Sharma is currently pursuing higher Vedic studies and Sanskrit studies in Madras Sanskrit College. A Mrdangam artist as well, he performs regularly in concerts. He teaches Sadhyavandana and allied Vedic subjects.

Vidyasthanam Foundation

Vidyasthanam Foundation was founded on January 27, 2025. The aim of the Foundation is to work towards the promotion and propagation of Hindu rituals to all the sections of the Hindu society.
